Crankworx Canada: the final event of the series and the most popular because it takes place in Whistler, BC. This the first event where we had the entire team together and it was awesome.

Due to Caroline and Emil’s injuries, Tyler, R-Dog and Bubba have been holding it down for the last three Crankworx events and have collected some wins and podiums. Caroline has been riding and doing some local events before Crankworx and she was ready to go. She won the Pump Track, her first major event since coming back after breaking her sternum. Bubba made it to the podium in the Dual Slalom and Tyler McCaul held it down for Speed & Style and Whip Off. R-Dog was seen all week, ripping the bike park and then competing in the Whip Off. He was looking good in his Fasthouse Hawaiian shirt with custom made patches.

The big story was Emil who has had health issues all season and has not been able to compete. He showed up at Crankworx not intending to compete but after a couple of days on the bike, he started to feel like his old self. With four days of practice on the slopestyle course, he took it day by day and made the call on the day of the event. On Saturday morning, he decided to compete and was the first one to go. He had an awesome run that ended with tears of happiness and ultimately got himself into fourth place. Not bad for only four days of practice! It was great to have the whole team there including Owen Marks and Ryan Middleton who were not competing but getting lots of laps in at the bike park. In addition, our own Fasthouse mtb event guy Christian Gonzales raced the Canadian Open.

It also marked our first booth at Crankworx with Bell. It was cool to see the positive reactions to our gear in Canada. The Crankworx series was awesome this year and we’re stoked to see all of our athletes do so well in all of the different events. We can’t wait until next year’s Crankworx series and having our whole team competing.
