Every year, December marks an important month for the film industry. Oftentimes, it’s in this month when major motion pictures are set for wide release. And this year, there are quite a few huge movies on the horizon with the remake of the popular ‘90s cult classic Point Break being near the top of the list.

Featuring some of action sport’s best athletes doing what they do best, Point Break includes an opening scene with some of the main characters ripping dirt bikes around the desert. At our roots, Fasthouse is connected with Hollywood, performing stunts in countless movies all around the world, but when we get to use our dirt bikes for work, we get particularly excited. For Point Break, stunt coordinator Mic Rodgers worked with Steve Haughelstine and Dustin “Wacker” Nowak in the epic opening scene. “Two weeks, in the most epic place, where it was our job to wake up and ride trails and hit jumps from dawn until dusk,” Wacker said. “There is a lot I can't even put into words, but it was definitely eye-opening and life changing to say the least.”

The crew set up for a two-week shoot in the freeriding mecca known as Swingarm City in Caineville, Utah, which has some of the gnarliest and unforgiving jumps you can find. “The whole shoot was right up our alley,” Wacker said when asked about his experience. “There has been many a free ride trips where Hog and I disappear for a while. We always get in some pretty epic sessions before anyone else is even awake so I felt right at home.” Any time you work on a movie, it’s an unforgettable experience, and Point Break will definitely be that way for everyone that worked on the film. “Working on the movie Point Break was insane,” Wacker said. “There were moments were it just didn't feel real.”
